    Comptant parmi les plus beaux bâtiments du « Gilded Age », la Payne Whitney Mansion a été commandée en 1902 par Oliver Hazard Payne pour son neveu Payne Whitney à l’occasion de son mariage avec Helen Hay. L’architecte Stanford White a dessiné cette maison dans le style d’un palais de la renaissance italienne.

    The Payne Whitney Mansion, among the most beautiful buildings of the "Gilded Age", was commissioned in 1902 by Oliver Hazard Payne for his nephew Payne Whitney on the occasion of his marriage to Helen Hay. The architect, Stanford White, designed this house in the style of an Italian Renaissance palace.
