We are looking for applications for an internship position at the Higher Education Department of the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C.

This position is available for a student enrolled full-time in an American university. Please note that we cannot accept candidates who have already graduated, high school students or students with visa restrictions.

Main Projects & Descriptions:

  • Innovation Policy Internship Program
    • Assisting the Higher Education team with the implimentation of the Innovation Policy Internship Program 
    • Assisting participants of the Innovation Policy Internship Program via mails and phone calls
    • Helping the Higher Education team with the social media promotion of the Innovation Policy Internship Program 
  • Proofreading
    • Translating communications materials from French to English 
    • Drafting, proofreading, and/or editing English language documents
  • Helping with general administration tasks
    • Updating contact lists

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English writing skills - must be native-level
  • Conversational French and ability to understand complex instructions in French
  • Ability to translate from French to English
  • Interest in French culture and language

The start and end dates can be flexible but the intern must be present between May 13 and July 19, 2019 and may be full-time or part-time (at least 16 hours per week, preferably in the morning), depending on the obligations of the student.

The intern will not receive any financial compensation.
