  • France honors Charlotte Vignon
    On May 23, 2018, Bénédicte de Montlaur, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy, awarded Charlotte Vignon with the insignia of the Chevalier of Arts and Letters in a ceremony held at the Frick Collection.     Good evening! As Cultural Counselor, it is my pleasure to welcome you here at the Frick Collection to bestow the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters upon Charlotte Vignon, Curator of Decorative Arts at the Frick Collection.

    On May 22, 2018, French Ambassador to the United States, Gérard Araud, awarded Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner with the insignia of the Legion of Arts and Letters in a ceremony held at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York.  Good afternoon! It is a privilege for me to welcome you here to the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to confer the Legion of Honor upon Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner, two internationally renowned art collectors, advisors and advocates.

  • Launch of Where the Light Falls by Allison Pataki and Owen Pataki
    On July 11th, Deputy Cultural Counselor Thomas Michelon welcomed Governor Pataki, Ambassador Castellenata, General Consul Kumin, George Sape and authors Allison and Owen Pataki for the launch of their novel on the French Revolution, Where The Light Falls, published by Random House in July 2017. The evening included a reception and book-signing at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York

    On June 27, Bénédicte de Montlaur, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy, awarded Liesl Schillinger with the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. Liesl Schillinger is an accomplished literary critic, journalist, and translator who has greatly contributed to the growth of French culture in the United States.
  • Graduation Of Students Of PS 110 & PS 133
    On June 20, Deputy Cultural Counselor Thomas Michelon gave a commencement address at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York on the occasion of the graduation of the students participating in PS 110 and PS 133's French Dual Language Program. He praised the hard work and dedication of both the teachers and students and encouraged the students to continue their studies in French.

    On June 21, Deputy Cultural Counselor Thomas Michelon gave a commencement speech at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York on the occasion of the graduation of the students in the French Dual Language Progam at PS 58 and PS 84. He commended the students for their efforts and thanked the schools' teachers and administration for creating such a strong program.
