Higher Education Department
The Higher Education Department of the French Embassy in the United States is committed to promoting the circulation of culture, knowledge, and scholarship between France and the United States. We contribute to building tomorrow’s global community by fostering cross-cultural and educational interactions between students, academics, and institutions from both countries. To attain these objectives, we rely on our Network for Initiatives of Excellence, composed of four outstanding and multidisciplinary cooperation programs:
• The University Centers of Excellence spark stellar academic networks at the heart of American universities committed to devising innovative programs focused on French culture and science
• The Partner University Fund (PUF) leverages outstanding bilateral initiatives which nurture original partnerships between French and American universities
• The Chateaubriand grant program selects outstanding Ph.D. candidates from American universities who want to pursue their research in a French research institution.
• CampusFrance opens the French University system to American students wishing to study abroad.
Our purpose in implementing these important programs is to foster mobility, mutual understanding, and collaborative leadership in higher education between the United States and France.
