The distinguished linguistics professor, Dr. Bernard Cerquiglini addressed the essential interconnectivity and profound history that link the French and English languages. The lecture 'A joint history of the English and French languages' took place at Emory University and at the Alliance française in Atlanta. bernard Cerquiglini also gave his lecture at Aubrun University Dr. Cerquiglini is a scholar who he has taught in universities in the U.S. and Europe. University of Georgia in Athens received the 2016 France on Campus Award!

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, in partnership with Kickstarter, with support from NAFSA and APLU, have launched the second edition of the France on Campus Award under the patronage of film director Wes Anderson. Dans le cadre des SPCD (Stages Pédagogiques de Courte Durée), l'Ambassade de France attribuera 22 bourses pour suivre une formation courte en France durant l'été 2017 : 14 à destination des enseignants de français langue étrangère au Cavilam à Vichy, 6 aux enseignants de classes bilingues au CLA à Besançon, et 2 pour un stage intensif (BELC) de formation professionnelle à Nantes.

The Federal Service Language Academy (FSLA) is a three-week residential program for students interested in an immersive intensive language experience, fitness, and exploring international-related careers with the federal government. Last year around 60 students from over 15 US states and one foreign countries successfully completed FSLA.
