France Rocks Summerfest 2016

An international festival of music from Paris presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Bureau Export with support from Institut Français and la Ville de Paris, France Rocks Summerfest 2016 is the first event of its kind, taking place as part of Tandem Paris-New York, a transatlantic cultural partnership celebrating these two cities. France Rocks Summerfest highlights the rich diversity of music from Paris with concerts from the most cutting edge French electro, jazz, world, contemporary, pop and rock artists across multiple venues and parks in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. The festival culminates June 21 with a concert featuring CharlElie Couture, Yael Naim, General Elektriks, and La Femme for Fête de la Musique in Central Park.

A Celebration of the Philarmonie de Paris

The evening included a conversation between Laurent Bayle, General Director of La Philharmonie – Cité de la musique, and Victoria Sanger, Vice-President of the Education Health and Arts Foundation. Patricia Barbizet, Chairwoman of the Board of La Philharmonie - Cité de la musique, also delivered introductory remarks. The event took place at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York.

From May 7 through 20 in New York City, Oui Design, the French Embassy’s program that fosters creative exchange in design between France and the U.S., co-presented over 20 events within the framework of NYCxDESIGN, New York’s official city-wide celebration of design. Oui Design brought the work of 27 international designers and curators as well as 15 manufacturers and institutions to New York.
