French-American Digital Lab New York 2016 Highlights of the Second Edition


From October 17th to 26th, 2016, New York welcomed the second edition of the French-American Digital Lab, an exchange program for startups from the cultural and creative industries, co-produced by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Business France. During this 10-day program, participants enjoyed a full experience filled with individual meetings, creative sessions, networking events, and site visits to New York’s cutting edge tech institutions.

Esther da Costa Meyer is professor of modern architecture at the Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University. Her research focuses on architecture in its interaction with globalization, neoliberalism, and environmental change, connections that challenge the anthropocentric, monographic models of traditional historiography. She also works on the architectural practices of colonial powers in the Global South, as well as the emerging cultures of resistance that were themselves highly hybrid, transnational, and diasporic.
