FIAC 2018

For its 45th edition, which will take place from October 18 to 21 in Paris, FIAC - International Contemporary Art Fair will host internationally renowned galleries in the halls of the Grand Palais. During this time, many events and exhibitions will be held in Paris alongside and in response to this incredible event.

FIAC Projects, in collaboration with Marc-Olivier Wahler, Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University, will present sculptures and installations in situ at Petit Palais on Avenue Winston Churchill. Instigated by FIAC, the pedestrianisation of the avenue has enabled the reconstruction of the original esplanade of the 1900 World Fair, thus connecting the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais.

FIAC Hors les Murs is a parcours of outdoor artworks inviting the public to discover a cartography of public installations presented in the city unfolded in various emblematic venues among the most prestigious of Paris: Jardin des Tuileries, musée national Eugène Delacroix, Place Vendôme and Place de la Concorde.

FIAC also presents artistic programs, such as talks, artists' films screenings, and the festival Parades for FIAC, which is dedicated to performative practices and exchanges between contemporary art disciplines, and investigates intersections between music, contemporary dance, performance and poetry. Twenty performances will be held in various locations such as the Palais de la découverte, the Petit Palais, the Centre Pompidou and the Grand Palais.

During FIAC week, major art scenes in Paris will open their Fall exhibitions. Find further details here. Also, from October 17 to 21, do not miss the up and coming alternative Fairs: the newcomer Bienvenue Art Fair at Cité Internationale des Arts (Oct 16-27) and the edgy Paris Internationale (Oct 17-21).

Fall is also the season of art awards and correlated exhibitions: on October 9 the opening of the exhibition by the laureate of the Marcel Duchamp Prize at Centre Pompidou will take place, on October 19 the twentieth Fondation d'entreprise Ricard Prize will be given, also in October, the winner of Le Meurice Prize will be revealed and on November 6, the grantee by Révélations Emerige will be announced.
