The 2019 call for applications for Etant donnés—the French-American Fund for Contemporary Art—is now open!

American institutions and curators and French artists can apply until February 1st, 2019 for projects taking place between June 1st, 2019 and June 30, 2020 through 3 grants:

American institutions for exhibitions and artistic projects
This grant program financially supports American non-profit institutions to organize artistic projects featuring French or France-based artists whose works have rarely been shown in the US.

Curatorial Fellowships
These grants are addressed to American curators wishing to conduct their research in contemporary art in France.

Etant Donnés Residencies
These grants support French or France-based visual artists seeking a residency of 2 to 4 months in the U.S., organized in partnership with an American organization.

All applications will be reviewed in March 2019 by independent American and French professionals specialized in contemporary art.

Étant donnés Contemporary Art is a program of the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE) Foundation developed in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the US, with lead support of Institut français-Paris, the French Ministry of Culture, the Florence Gould Foundation, the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, Chanel USA, the ADAGP, the CPGA - Comité professionnel des galeries d'art, and private donors.
