Kidscreen Summit, Kids Entertainment's Biggest Event, Meets In New York

Kidscreen Summit, kids entertainment industry’s biggest annual event, will meet in New York from January 9th to January 12th, 2014. In 2013, the conference welcomed over 1,600 attendees from 47 countries. At Kidscreen Summit, top executives attend in order to "take advantage of the year’s best business networking, and to engage in critical dialogue on issues that affect the industry".

France will have its own delegation, which will be led by TV France International. In  2014 French delegation consists of more than 70 attendees.

Kidscreen Summit coincides with the second International Emmy® Kids Awards (Feb 10, 2014 in New York) where 3 French programs were nominated : Zou (Cybergroup Studios/Scrawl Studios), Angelo Rules (TeamTO/CAKE Entertainment/France Télévisions/Télétoon) and Spike 2 (TAT productions/Master Films).

French animation has been growing more and more over the past few years. In 2013, France was the third animated film producer in the world and the first one in Europe. French animated movies have also enjoyed great success lately. Last year at Kidscreen Summit, the French animated made-for-TV film The Jungle Bunch was awarded the "Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie 2013" award. This year, the French animated feature film Ernest & Celestine was awarded the "Best Animation" award by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and was recently nominated for the 2014 Oscars in the "Best Animated Feature" category.
