About Alain Badiou:

Alain Badiou, born in 1937, is one of France’s greatest living philosophers. He has published many books, including novels and political texts. Many of them such as Manifesto for PhilosophyConditionsMetapolitics and Logics of Worlds are now available in English translation.Badiou writes on a wide range of topics setting the Platonic concepts of being, truth and the subject against the modern sophists of postmodernism. Badiou is committed to the communist tradition and his philosophy is always articulated to ethical and political consequences. His work has a profound impact upon studies in the history of philosophy, the history and philosophy of science, political philosophy, aesthetics, psychoanalysis, and ontology.
