Marie-Laure Cruschi

Marie-Laure Cruschi is a children’s book illustrator and graphic designer. Alumnae of both Ecole Estienne and Arts Décoratifs of Paris, she now works as an artistic designer for various communication agencies.

Founded in 2007, Cruschiform is the name of her Parisian studio, which welcomes a diverse clientele: periodical reviews, international magazines, children’s book editors, musical instruction, and luxury brands.

The work of Marie-Laure Cruschi (alias Cruschiform) lies at the intersection of art, graphic design, illustration and typography. Sensitive to color and geometric modular designs, she enjoys experimenting with various graphic devices in playful, poetic and sometimes even didactic manners, creating narrative universes that are perpetually in renewal. Carried for many years by the desire to question our ways of seeing the world, she has employed her sensibility towards serving the children’s literary community through heightened visibility in publication and cultural press reviews.

Several of her illustrations are often featured in Inrockuptibles, Wired, GQ, Esquire, XXI…

ABOUT THE BOOK

Did you know that a tornado travels faster than a race car? Or that a human and spider travel at the same speed? Full Speed Ahead! is the first picture book to directly compare the speeds of animals, modes of transport, and forces of nature in a clear and visually striking album format. Objects are grouped from slowest to fastest, with objects of the same speed on one spread, creating fascinating “match” races. And with a sleek, graphic design and vibrant spot-color printing, Full Speed Ahead! is as gorgeous to look at as it is informative to read. On your mark, get set, go!
