French children's book author and illustrator, Marc Boutavant is coming to the US to promote his new books "Ghost" and the "Ariol" series. He will be in New York for several fun events! Families from the Upper West Side to Brooklyn can visit a book signing, a talk or a workshop in their neighborhood.

Fri, Nov 15

10:30am: Storyhour and Drawing Demo
Bank Street Bookstore, 2879 Broadway at W 112th St., New York, NY 10025.
Illustrator Marc Boutavant visits Bank Street Bookstore for a special storyhour reading of Sonia Goldie's Ghosts, followed by a live drawing demo of your favourite characters and a book signing.

6pm: Comic Books Party and Signing
Bergen Street Comics, 470 Bergen St., Brooklyn, NY 11217
Join us for an evening with Anthony Huchette (Brooklyn Quesadillas), Marc Boutavant (Ariol, Ghosts), and, thanks to the magic of the Internet, Emmanuel Guibert, who will participate via Skype! The event begins with a conversation between Guibert and Boutavant about their collaborative comic series Ariol. The conversation will be followed by a reception and book signing of the authors' latest releases.

11am: Workshop on Mouk Around the World
12pm: Book signing for all ages
MoMa Design Store, 81 Spring St., Soho, NY 10019
In a special workshop, Boutavant brings to life the adventures of Mouk, a bear who travels the world with his animal friends. Arrive early, space is limited. Then, he will sign his books for all fans!

6pm: The ABC of Marc Boutavant & Carin Berger
NYPL, Berger Forum (2nd floor), Fifth Avenue at 42nd St., New York, NY 10018
Marc Boutavant will also present his work to the grown-ups, in a conversation with Carin Berger at the New York Public Library. They will discuss their books, their influences, and the differences between French and American's picture book markets.
