Hélène Cardona will be launching Life in Suspension and Beyond Elsewhere Friday, October 28th in Santa Monica, California. The event will take place from 7:30 PM to 9 PM at the Robert Berman Gallery in Bergamot Station. Hélène will be accompanied by Elena Karina Byrne, who will be launching her book Squander, as well as Dale Griffiths Stamos, who will present her book RenWomen. Singer Simone White will open, and poet Lynne Thompson will introduce the authors. Robert Berman will host. 

As a poet, a translator and an actor, Hélène has received many awards. One of her most recent publications, Life in Suspension / La Vie Suspendue (Salmon Poetry, 2016) won the Reader’s Favorite Award in Poetry and the Pinnacle Book Award for Best Bilingual Poetry Book. Her second publication, Beyond Elsewhere (White Pines Press, 2016), which is a translation of Gabriel Arnou-Laujeac’s Plus qu’ailleurs, received a Hemingway Grant.

Hélène is fluent in six different languages. She has also served as a translator and interpreter for the Canadian Embassy in Paris. She currently resides in Santa Monica, California.
