PEOPLE is a continued exploration of the world by the artist Blexbolex who brought us the stunning Seasons

In his signature style Blexbolex meditates on mothers and fathers, dancers and warriors, gardeners and farmers, hypnotists and genies...

All sorts of people are pictured here, linked in ways that begin to emerge page after page. Whether real, mythic or imaginary, all inhabit an extraordinary gorgeously rendered world.

People is a joy to hold and thumb through, a book to come back to time and again.

Night and Day

Each poem begins with an epigraph that distills a subject and then goes on to elaborate, extrapolate, complicate. Each poem reverses "communication"; pushes meaning from one image to the next, taking it apart, transferring it from line to line in a series of transformations that finally create an experience of the present.

Hill

Deep in Provence, a century ago, four stone houses perch on a hillside. The four houses have a dozen residents—and then there is Gagou, a mute drifter. Janet, the eldest of the men, is bedridden; he feels snakes writhing in his fingers and speaks in tongues. Even so, all is well until the village fountain suddenly stops running. From this point on, humans and the natural world are locked in a life-and-death struggle. All the elements—fire, water, earth, and air—come into play.
