26th Annual Translation Prize

On June 5, the French-American Foundation announced the winners of their 26th Annual Translation Prize for superior English translations of French works published in 2012:

The winner in fiction is Alyson Waters, who shared memories from her CNL residency grant with Residencies in Review, for her translation of Prehistoric Times by Eric Chevillard (Archipelago Books).

The winner in non-fiction is Nora Scott for her translation of The Metamorphoses of Kinship by Maurice Godelier (Verso Books).

Alyson Waters and Nora Scott were recognized at the Annual Awards Ceremony and each received a $10,000 cash prize, funded by the Florence Gould Foundation.
