On March 20, 2016, UCLA French and Francophone Studies Professor, Alain Mabanckou gave an inaugural lesson regarding his work "Lettres noires: des ténèbres à la lumière" ("Black Letters: From Darkness to Light) at the Collège de France. The work brilliant success for the 

"Lettres noires: des ténèbres à la lumière" recieved great feedback and was a tremendous success for the French-Congolese writer. It reminds us that the history of France "is stitched in black thread."
