Cultural Attaché Laurence Marie and the Book Department of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy have compiled a list of five favorite titles translated from French in 2012:

HHhH, A Novel (fiction) by Laurent Binet - Grasset et Fasquelle / Farrar, Strauss and Giroux, translated by Sam Taylor

The Conflict: How Modern Motherhood Undermines the Status of Women (non fiction) by Elisabeth Badinter- Flammarion / Metropolitan Books, translated by Adriana Hunter

The Patagonian Hare: A Memoir (non fiction) - Claude Lanzmann - Gallimard / Farrar, Strauss and Giroux, translated by John Gaffney

Guy Delisle, Shenzhen: A Travelogue from China (comic book) - L'Association / Drawn and Quarterly, translated by Helge Dascher
