A Night of Philosophy Recap

Thousands attended A Night of Philosophy at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Ukrainian Institute from 7pm to 7am on April 24th.

On Friday, April 24th, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the Ukrainian Institute welcomed over 5000 guests, from 7pm to 7am, for A Night of Philosophy. We were thrilled to see such incredible enthusiasm amongst our guests and participants, as eighty-five philosophers and artists fueled the 12-hour event with fascinating discussions and performances.

As guests mingled and enjoyed the historic settings of the French Embassy and the Ukrainian Institute, philosophers gave thirty minute talks on a plethora of subjects such as morality and happiness, suicide, freedom of speech, scandal, and much more. Artistic performance pieces ranged from a balancing act by one artist as she walked across a beam eight feet off the ground, to the reading of the entire work by the Marquis de Sade's Philosophy in the Boudoir. To learn more about all that went on at A Night of Philosophy, take a look at the photo gallery and event reviews.
