La French Tech Launches New Site

February 7, 2014 | By French Culture

Begun in late 2013, La French Tech is a multifaceted initiative by the French Finance Ministry that aims to help develop and finance tech startups throughout France. In December, the Ministry announced that it would invest €215 million in startup accelerators to help give more opportunities for young entrepreneurs and companies. In order to continue their mission to see "thousands of startups flourish in France, and become a critical part of the international tech scene," La French Tech has launched a new website to serve as a hub for their programs and an online space for the French tech community to gather. The site hosts event listings, related news, funding information, as well as, discussion forums and links to job listings. Of course, it is also open to the international community, providing a bridge between businesses in France and around the world.  As French technology minister Fleur Pellerin told the Wall Street Journal, "We need to attract more venture capital, we need to do it quickly. The ecosystem won't be viable unless entrepreneurs have the prospect of getting both funded and eventually bought out." This site serves as one of several efforts by La French Tech to keep this ecosystem not only viable, but continually growing.
