Chris Marker's The Owl's Legacy

Chris Marker's The Owl's Legacy, co-presented by Laemmle Theatres and Acropolis Cinema
will screen from May 31-June 2, 2019.

Long unavailable in the U.S. and Canada, this 13-part series comes to LA audiences in a special release from Icarus Films.

Each episode takes as its starting point a different word that originated in ancient Greece—including 'symposium,' 'democracy' and 'nostalgia'—inspiring a wide-ranging exploration of that concept in contemporary culture.

The series is newly restored by The Cinémathèque Française.

The Owl's Legacy will screen in two parts:
Episodes 1-7 in Part 1
Episodes 8-13 in Part 2.
TRT: 340 min.
