16 Sunrises presented at San Francisco Green Film Festival

Directed by Pierre-Emmanuel Le Goff, 16 Sunrises will be screened for the Closing Night of the San Francisco Green Film Festival, Sunday, September 29 at the Roxie Theatre at 8pm. Director Pierre-Emmanuel Le Goff will be in attendance.

16 Sunrises (16 levers de soleil) follows the six months journey of French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and his fellow astronauts in their lives on the International Space Station, 450 kilometers from Earth. As the space station revolves, they experience 16 sunrises each day, witnessing a planet that is constantly evolving. They capture spectacular footage of superstorms, cosmic phenomena, and life in zero-gravity, offering a stunning new perspective of home and our place in the universe. Can our planet adopt the same harmony as the nations that collaborate to operate the station?

Launched in 2011, the San Francisco Green Film Festival is the West Coast's leading event for films & discussions about people and the planet. SF Green Film Festival is dedicated to screening compelling environmental films; connecting audiences to filmmakers and experts; and sparking green ideas & actions.

Every year, SFGFF organizers spotlight an environmental issue or idea throughout the festival.

The 2019 Festival theme is Home, encompassing a broad range of critical issues including affordable housing, migration, sustainable cities, habitat loss, and more.
