MATTERS | Theatre Research Residency

Part of France-Atlanta 2019

NOW THE TECHNOSPHERE | Duncan Evennou and Clémence Hallé

The French performer and artistic director Duncan Evennou and the researcher Clémence Hallé will present the first step of the trilogy Matters and their new research axes. The rst performance was an exploration of the archives of the inaugural meeting of the Anthropocene Working Group in 2014 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. The second performance will be an exploration of the relationship between humans and technology and the dominant story used to explain why we enter the Anthropocene. The last performance will treat the alternative stories told by the studies of post-colonialism and gender.

Duncan Evennou graduated in 2012 from the Ecole nationale supérieure d’art dramatique of the Théâtre national de Bretagne and completed the Political Arts Experimentation Program (SPEAP) at the Institut d’etudes politiques de Paris. He is now working on creation, research and pedagogy dynamics at the crossing point of drama, sociology and visual arts.

Clémence Hallé is a doctoral student at the École normale supérieure in the Sciences, Arts, Creation, Research Department. Her thesis is about the aesthetic history of the Antropocene.

This residency is organized by the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France in the United States with the support of Light House Company and the SACRe Laboratory de PSL Université de Paris.

RESIDENCY: OCTOBER 21 – NOVEMBER 15
