An Evening with Raoul Peck: Conversations on Identity, History, Race, and Baldwin

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee welcomes Raoul Peck, award winning film director, writer, and director of the famous French film and television school La Fémis, for a thought provoking and insightful discussion of his latest film, I Am Not Your Negro.  Peck will discuss the film, James Baldwin, and connect the Civil Rights Movement to the issues of segregation, education, and mass incarceration that Milwaukee and so many other places around the world face today.

Film Screening

The Union Cinema, with support from The Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival, UWM Sociocultural Programming, and The Festival of Films in French, will be hosting 2 screenings of Peck’s Oscar Nominated film, I Am Not Your Negro, on Thursday, October 19th at 5 and 7pm.
