Yasmine Hamdan at El Rey!

Yasmine Hamdan

Yasmine Hamdan will be performing at the El Rey Theatre on November 14!

Yasmine is a Lebanese singer and songwriter who is currently based in Paris. While still living in Beirut, Lebanon, Yasmine Hamdan teamed up with Zeid Hamdan to create the band Soapkills. They released a few albums and became a popular independent electronic-pop band in the Middle East.

After settling in Paris, Hamdan collaborated with French-american electronic band CocoRosie  and French record producer Mirwais. She then worked with Marc Collin, a member of the French band Nouvelle Vague, to write and produce her first solo album, “Ya Nass” which was exclusivally released in France and Lebanon in 2012 and was later released internationally in 2013. Yasmine Hamdan’s music falls under the genre of electronica, trip-hop, and Arabic pop. Much of her music relays a soft yet moving tone and entrancing electronic beats.
