Ibeyi at the Theater at the Ace Hotel!

Ibeyi, the French-Cuban band, will be performing at the Theater at the Ace Hotel on November 19!

Ibeyi, composed of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz, has gained major recognition with their two albums: they were featured on Beyoncé's film Lemonade, praised by Adele and performed at Coachella this year.

Lisa and Naomi grew up between La Havana and Paris, in a music-loving family as both of their parents were performers—their father, Anga Diaz, was the famous Cuban percussionist of Buena Vista Social Club, and their mother, Maya Dagnino, is a French-Venezuelan singer. While the twins are currently only 22 years old, they have released two albums, one EP, and seven singles so far in their career.

Ibeyi sings songs in English, French, Spanish and Yoruba, a Nigerian language that the Diaz family ancestors spoke when they were brought to Cuba as slaves by the Spanish in the 1700s. Lisa Diaz is the main voice and also plays piano while Naomi also sings and plays Peruvian/Cuban percussion instruments. Ibeyi is truly one of a kind and their concert is not one to be missed!
