ImproTech Paris-Philly

In 2004 was held at IRCAM, during the 1st Sound and Music Computing Conference, a workshop on Improvisation and the Computer, that gathered the musicians and researchers operating in the field.

After a first edition in 2012, ImproTech comes back, this time to Philadelphia, for a three-day conference from Dec 11-13, 2017. ImproTech Paris - Philly will take place at the University of Pennsylvania, with concerts at The Rotunda and the Annenberg Center, and musical events at the ICA, which are opened to the public.

Scholars, students and musicians will come from many places in Europe and the US to talk about their work, demo, teach and perform. Among them are a lot of French or France-based artists as Marc Chemillier, Pierre Couprie, Ken Deguernel, Bernard Lubat,Adrien Mamou-Mani, Jérôme Nika,Charles Kely and many more. IK Paris-Philly will flourish on the explosive encounter of prominent research labs and scholars, well established musical figures of Jazz and contemporary music, and the young avant-garde / underground scene of Philadelphia and surroundings.
