Renaud Capuçon Performs with the LA Phil!

Famed violinist Renaud Capuçon will be joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for performances on January 5th and 6th! He will be performing under Paris-based guest conductor Matthias Pintscher, well accomplished in both his conducting and composing. Capuçon will solo for Pintscher’s self written violin concerto titled “mar’eh,” which premiered in London in 2011. This will be the West Coast premiere of the piece. The remainder of the concert program will consist of works from three turn of the century French composers.


Capuçon was born in Chambéry and began studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at the age of fourteen. Capuçon has established himself has a high-level and accomplished violin soloist. The French Victoires de la Musique nominated him for “Rising Star” and “New Talent of the Year” in 2000, and titled him “Soliste instrumental de l’année” in 2005. In 2006, Capuçon was awarded the “Prix Georges Enesco” and in June 2011, the French Government appointed him “Chevalier dans l’Ordre National du Mérite.”
