Lorenzo Mattotti. Covers for The New Yorker

Opening and presentation with Lorenzo Mattotti and Françoise Mouly

The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to host the exhibition "Lorenzo Mattotti. Covers for The New Yorker", opening on February 6th and running through March 8th.
The exhibition will feature a selection of original works that internationally respected and esteemed Italian illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti has produced over the last twenty years for The New Yorker.
Curated by Melania Gazzotti, the exhibition presents for the first time the original pastels created by the artist for 32 of the magazine’s covers. Also included are unpublished preparatory sketches and a selection of Mattotti’s illustrations for articles on fashion, culture and current affairs.
The exhibition provides an inspiring display of Mattotti’s feel and sensitivity for color, which endows scenes with light and depth—showing not only the great versatility of the artist, but also his startling ability to find innovative ways to explore and reveal a wide range of topics.
