About Trio Karénine

Paris-based Trio Karénine was founded in 2009. It is composed by Fanny Robilliard (violin), Louis Rodde (cello) and Paloma Kouider (piano). The young ensemble chose its name after Tolstoï's Anna Karenina. The three musicians made their debuts at Festivals La Roque d’Anthéron and Rencontres Musicales d’Evian, the Folles Journées in Nantes, Tokyo and Varsovie, in Reims for the Flâneries Musicales, and at the Chopin Festival in Nohant. A frequent guest on international scenes, Trio Karenine performs in venues as Salle Pleyel and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Konbzerthaus in Berlin, London’s Wigmore Hall, Salle Bourgie in Montréal, Herkulessaal and Prinzregententheater in Münich, Leiszhalle in Hambourg, Forbidden City Auditorium in Pékin, Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice. Regularly invited to various French radio programs (France Musique and Radio Classique) they also appear on German broadcasts (BR, MDR, SWR …), as austrian and dutch ones. Also eager to discover the work of contemporary composers, Trio Karenine performs the works from Wolfgang Rihm, Philippe Hersant, Hans-Werner Henze, Graciane Finzi, or Benoit Menut. Trio Karenine was awarded at the ARD international Competition, at the Concours Charles Hennen, and won Fondation Oulmont, Nordmetall-Ensemble, and Pro Musicis prizes. Their first recording of the Schumann piano trios was released in april 2016 (MIRARE) was awarded 5 "Diapasons". Their next recording, dedicated to Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré and Germaine Tailleferre piano trios, was released in 2018 (MIRARE).
