Remembering Things Past: Proust and his music

Commemorate Marcel Proust and his seminal novel, Remembrance of Things Past with a stellar performance by pianist, Jérémie Favreau and violinist, Ken Aiso, on Saturday, December 15, 2018. at Amargosa Opera House in Death Valley.

Marcel Proust was a renowned French novelist primarily known for his work “À la recherche du temps perdu.” The performance by Jérémie Favreau and Ken Aiso was inspired by this popular piece of writing. Remembrance of Things Past is a seven volume novel that follows Proust’s recollections of his childhood and adulthood in the 19th century and 20th century aristocratic France.

Pianist Jérémie Favreau and violinist Ken Aiso will be exploring the fictional Vinteuil violin sonata in Marcel Proust’s seminal novel Remembrance of Things Past through the performance of the actual works that inspired it: Saint-Saëns and Franck’s Violin Sonatas, as well as Fauré’s Ballade for piano. The audience will experience a sensitive/sensorial approach to Proust through the music of the “Belle Epoque” that inspired his notoriously musical writing.
