I fall, I flow, I melt

The L.A. Dance Project will be performing I fall, I flow, I melt beginning on January 12 until January 20, 2019 at L.A. Dance Project Studios in Los Angeles, California. This event will be the U.S. premiere of L.A. Dance Project’s Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied’s recent explorations. Millepied is a choreographer, filmmaker, and former professional dancer from Bordeaux, France that studied ballet beginning at eight years old.

I fall, I flow, I melt is an intimate performance experience composed of music and dance. After studying Johann Sebastian Bach’s most well-known music and its intricacy, Millepied was inspired to make his own work similarly elegant.

Benjamin Millepied incorporates movements from his previous works, Bach Studies (Part 1), and compositions from David Lang in this new endeavor. You will also notice how techniques of counterpoint, fugue, and canon are thoughtfully and artistically complicated as a result of Millepied’s influencers.

In addition to the twelve dancer performing, Etienne Gara, a French born violinist and the Artistic Director of L.A.’s Delirium Musicum, will be playing each night. Gara will be performing Bach’s Partita for Violin No. 2 in D Minor, as well as sections from Mystery Sonatas by David Lang.

Tickets are quickly selling out for this performance, so be sure to get yours reserved while you still can!
