Thomas Piketty: Rising Inequality and Globalization

In the framework of the Just Societies Series, organized by the The Division of Social Science in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences of Columbia University, the leading French economist Thomas Piketty, Professor of Economics at Ecole d'economie de Paris, will give a lecture on "Rising Inequality and Globalisation" .

Thomas Piketty is Professor at EHESS and at the Paris School of Economics and the author of the international bestseller Capital in the 21st Century. He has done major historical and theoretical work on the interplay between economic development, the distribution of income and wealth, and political conflict. In particular, he has done seminal work on the long run evolution of top income shares in national income.
