Lincoln Center masterclasses from female filmmakers

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Film at Lincoln Center is sharing a selection of Q&As and masterclasses from female filmmakers, including many French women. Hear from such influential figures as Agnès Varda, Mati Diop, Claire Denis, Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert and Adèle Haenel.

A large number of lessons and masterclasses from La Cinémathèque Française are available online, for free. Depending on who is interviewed, conferences are in French or in English. Watch lessons from James Gray, Martin Scorsese, Gus Van Sant, Tim Burton, among others. 

La Femis conferences 

The leading French film school, La Femis, broadcasts a series of conferences with international directors from 1987 until now, available for free on its website. Those with David Cronenberg, Thomas Vinterberg and Francis Ford Coppola are in English. 

Lezioni di Cinema from Bologna film festival 

Each year, as part of the festival Il Cinema Ritrovato numerous conferences with international figures are held. You can watch for free these talks and interviews, many of them in English or in French, on the festival Youtube channel.
