Matías Piñeiro Presents Lumière D'été at Films on the Green

This year, we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Films on the Green. To mark the occasion, ten guest curators with a special connection to film, New York, and French culture collaborated with the French Embassy Film Department to put together a unique series of French movies to screen in parks across the city.

On Friday, July 21, 2017, hundreds of New Yorkers gathered along the Hudson River to watch the French classic, Lumière d'Été. Director Matías Piñeiro joined us at Riverside Park's Pier I to introduce the film, which he had selected for the festival. Before the screening began, we held a special behind-the-scenes interview to get his take on the film and French cinema in general!

The screening of Lumière d'été directed by Jean Grémillon (1943) took place in Riverside Park South as part of #FilmsOnTheGreen. Discover the photo album of the screening of Lumière d'été on Facebook.
