Come dream with us under the stars and enjoy an outdoor movie screening of this introspective and fanciful French film, “Amélie.” This event is part of the Eat|See|Hear Outdoor Movie series hosted by Showtime Presents.

“Amélie” is a delectably whimsical tale of a reserved young woman pursuing justice and compassion in every small act. Misdiagnosed with an unusual heart condition at a young age, Amélie did not attend school with other children so instead she developed a lively and imaginative world of her own. One fateful day, this all begins to change as she discovers an opportunity to engage with others in a quiet, yet sympathetic manner. Upon discovering a mysterious treasure box from 40 years ago, Amélie decides to find the box’s owner and return the nostalgic treasure. Seeing the owner’s reaction and inspired perspective, she goes on to continue acts of charity to bring joy to those around her. While consumed by her altruistic passions, Amélie realizes that she lacks the ability to manifest her own dreams, and she begins to take action towards the realization of the love she craves. “Amélie” was directed by the acclaimed, Jean-Pierre Jeunet (“Delicatessen”, “The City of Lost Children”) who captures the poetic and mysterious charm of modern-day Paris with each shot.
