Based on real-life accounts by former French spies, The Bureau’s branch of undercover agents is dispatched to locations around the world where they live under false identities for several years at a time.

About the Bureau

Within the French secret service operates a clandestine branch of undercover agents. Dispatched to key locations around the world and living under false identities for years at a time, their mission is to seek out and identify potential sources. In order to fulfill their mission, their false identities must be totally undetectable and highly elaborate. These fabricated identities are called “legends.” Creating them takes months of work, maintaining them takes discipline. All this and more lies deep in the heart of the most confidential branch of the secret service: The Bureau.

The Bureau (Le Bureau des Légendes) has had astounding success in the U.S. and abroad, with critical acclaim from The New York Times and Vanity Fair. In France, the first two seasons won the best series awards from the French Union of Film Critics as well as the Crystal Globe for best television series. The second season won both the jury special prize and audience award for a TV series at the Los Angeles-based French film festival Colcoa.
