8 Oscars Nominations for France

Among the nominees announced by the Academy for the 2015 Oscars, France has received 8 nominations. The ceremony of the 87th Academy Awards will take place on February 22, 2015:

Abderrahmane Sissako's Timbuktu in Best Foreign Language Film. This French film will represent Mauritania in the Oscars race. 

Marion Cotillard in Best Actress in a leading role for "Two Days, One Night"

Alexandre Desplat in Best Music Orginal Score for The Grand Budapest Hotel and for The Imitation Game

The Salt of the Earth (French coproduction) in Best Documentary

Song of the Sea (French coproduction) in Best Annimated Feature

Butter Lamp of Yak de Hu Wei and Julien Féret in Best Short Film.

Two Days One Night is still playing at IFC Center and Timbuktu will be released on January 28 at Lincoln Plaza and Film Forum
