The French distributor and theater manager Sophie Dulac launched the Champs-Elysées Film Festival in Paris last year hoping to gather spectators interested in the independent aspect of American cinema. Thanks to its 15,000 spectators in 2011, the festival will celebrate its second edition from June 12th to 18th, with more than 60 films and a hundred screenings in theaters located on the Champs-Elysées (Balzac, Gaumont Champs-Elysées, Lincoln, Publicis Cinémas, UGC George V et MK2 Grand Palais).

French actor Olivier Martinez will be the president of the festival which will feature:

  • - 8 independent American features. One of them will be awarded the Public's Choice Award.

  • - More than 35 French and American short films. The public will vote for the best ones.

  • - French and American premieres with the film cast in attendance.

  • - Several masterclasses (Costra Gavras, Cedric Klapisch, Frédérick Wiseman...).

  • - Kid films
