Joel and Ethan Coen

The French Cinematheque in Paris gives American filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen a full retrospective this October.

For nearly a month, the duo's full catalog  of feature films will be shown on the big screen from "Blood Simple" (1984) to "Inside Llweyn Lewis," Grand Jury Prize at this year Cannes Film Festival. Only those who have purchased the the French Cinematheque "Libre Pass" will be able to attend this screening of "Inside Lleweyn Lewis" on October 16 as the film will not be released in France until November 6.

The retrospective opens on October 2nd with the screening of one of the cornerstones of the two brothers' cinematography, "Fargo," with Joel and Ethan Coen appearing in person for the screening. This black comedy released in 1995 captures the essence of Coen's cinema, with a strangely sympathetic antihero, complicated, nearly intractable, situations, and a dark humor.
