January 17, 2014 | By Romain Rancurel

A few hours after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 2014 Oscar nominations, the Critics' Choice Movie Awards were presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) in Santa Monica.

During that ceremony, French cinema was honored with awards given to Blue Is the Warmest Color (Best Foreign film) and its young star, Adèle Exarchopoulos named Best Young Actress.

Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke and Richard Linklater received the LOUIS XIII Genius Award for “unprecedented demonstration for excellence in the cinematic arts”. This award came along with their Oscar nominations earlier the same day.
