EuropaCorp Strenghtens its US Distribution

February 27, 2014 | By Romain Rancurel

On February 21st, Relativity Media (pres. Tucker Tooley) announced the creation of a U.S. distribution and marketing joint venture with EuropaCorp (CEO Christophe Lambert), according to Variety. Both companies will benefit from this joint venture by distributing each other’s films. With this agreement, Relativity Media opens up the US market for Europacorp’s films. EuropaCorp will have to pay $130 million over six years for US distribution rights.

The deal encourages the two companies to co-produce and co-finance each other’s future films. Recently, they co-produced and co-financed Luc Besson’s last three films - “The Family,” “3 Days To Kill” and the upcoming “Brick Mansions,” to be distributed by Relativity this year.
