On April 30, 2012, Ambassador François Delattre and Cultural Counselor Antonin Baudry hosted a celebration to honor Harvey Weinstein’s légion d’honneur, which was awarded by President Nicolas Sarkozy in March 2012.

Guests attended a private screening of The Intouchables at the Paley Center for Media and then headed uptown to celebrate at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. Following the Ambassador and the Cultural Counselor, Weinstein addressed guests and expressed gratitude to his inspirations, mentors and collaborators. he had especially warm words for his 86-year-old mother, Miriam (partial namesake of Miramax Films) and director Quentin Tarantino. He also used the platform to commend France for its stringent anti-piracy legislation and to support anti-bullying legislation.
