Hermione Cultural Program NYC 2015

To celebrate the arrival of the Hermione, a full-scale replica of the Marquis de  Lafayette's 18th century French ship in the U.S., the region Poitou-Charentes, in collaboration with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, have organized a series of cultural events following the ship as she sails up the East Coast of the United States. 

The ship will arrive in New York City at South Street Seaport on July 1st and will stay through the Fourth of July. She will then continue up the coast arriving in Boston on July 11th. A wide variety of events will also take place throughout New England.

The following is a round-up of events taking place in New York in celebration of the ship's arrival:

In addition to the above events, the New York Historical Society is presenting an exhibition (May 29 August 16) entitled, Lafayette's Return: The “Boy General," the American Revolution, and the Hermione.
