July 31, 2013 | By FRENCH CULTURE FILM

Cyber Group Studios, a French producer and distributor of animated TV series and movies targeting kids and teenagers, will start broadcasting its hit animated preschool series “Zou” on PBS Kids Sprout in September. It is planned to set on air during “The Sunny Side Up Show.”

Produced by Cyber Group Studios and the American Scrawl Studios for Disney EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), “Zou” is based on a book by Michel Gay distinguished by the Parents’ Choice Award.  It follows the adventures of a 5-year-old zebra, Zou, his family and his friend Elzee in "Zebratown".

Broadcast first on Disney Junior UK in May 2012, it became the second best launch ever on the channel. In a year, “Zou” became a worldwide success, which led to the production of a second season. It has been sold in more than 140 territories and broadcast in 24 different languages throughout the world.

“Zou” was awarded first prize in Television Animation at the 29th Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF) in 2012 and was nominated for the Magnolia Award at the 19th Shanghai TV Festival.
