This year, we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Films on the Green. To mark the occasion, ten guest curators with a special connection to film, New York, and French culture collaborated with the French Embassy Film Department to put together a unique series of French movies to screen in parks across the city.

One of the guest curators was the rapper, singer-songwriter, musician, slam poet, writer, and actor, Saul Williams. Before introducing the screening of his selected film, Tey (Today), in which he also stars, Williams took some time to speak with us. He spoke of Films on the Green, French cinema, and even of his experience making Tey. He had no shortage of stories to share: watch below to find out what he had to say!

The screening of Tey (Today) directed by Alain Gomis (2013, France-Senegal) took place on Friday June 9, 2017 in Washington Square Park as part of Films on The Green. #FilmsOnTheGreen
