Toronto International Film Festival 2014 : A Record Year for French Cinema

The 39th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced its complete 2014 film selection. The list, composed of more than 300 titles, includes 41 French films and co-productions, among them 13 world premieres.

- La Faille by Nino Kirtadze - World Premiere
- Gemma Bovery by Anne Fontaine - World Premiere
- Meurtre à Pacot by Raoul Peck - World Premiere
- Qu'Allah bénisse la France ! by Abd Al Malik - World Premiere
- Red Rose by Sepideh Farsi - World Premiere
- Samba by Éric Toledano & Olivier Nakache - World Premiere
- Le Temps des aveux by Régis Wargnier - World Premiere
- This Is My Land by Tamara Erde - World Premiere
- Une nouvelle amie by François Ozon - World Premiere

The festival has a reputation for kick starting the careers of many of its awards contenders, so these nominations will likely give a boost to this batch of young French filmmakers. The North American film industry and festivalgoers will get a chance to see all those titles when TIFF opens on September 4th.
