July 11, 2013 | By Myriam Laville

On July 11, TV5Monde USA will launch the first VOD cable platform entirely devoted to French-language films. It will be available in some major American markets to Comcast customers who are subscribers of the TV5Monde USA linear channel.

An average of 15 movies will be offered each month, including titles produced by French-language cinema production and distribution companies such as TF1 International, Films Distribution, Pathé, etc. Viewers will be able to see recent release as well as French classics.

This fall, a selection of Paris-themed films including La Folle Histoire D'amour de Simon Eskenazy by Jean-Jacques Zilbermann (2009) and Tout ce qui Brille by Géraldine Nakache and Hervé Mimran (2010) will be featured. An assortment of romantic comedies will present a number of notable French actresses such as Marion Cotillard in Ma Vie en L’air by Rémi Bezançon (2006) and Romy Schneider in the classic Une Histoire Simple by Claude Sautet (1978).
