Watch French Films on MUBI this June!

Curated streaming platform MUBI announced its June release slate, which will feature a selection of films from acclaimed French directors, including an exclusive Philippe Garrel retrospective as well as series featuring the work of two other French greats — one legendary and one unsung — with films from Marcel Carné and Jacques Becker.
MUBI’s curators present a new hand-picked film each day and each one is available to stream for 30 days.


Marcel Carné Classics

One of cinema's most beautiful on-screen pairings, French actors Arletty and Jean Gabin, bring out the best in poetic realist Marcel Carné (Children of Paradise).

Jacques Becker's Companies 

Best known as an assistant director to French master Jean Renoir, Jacques Becker remains one of the unmined great directors of the 1940s and 50s. MUBI will feature three of his best films, each a gripping immersion into a unique company of people: gangsters, fashionistas and prisoners.

Global Retrospective on Philippe Garrel: "Fight for Eternity"

MUBI is thrilled to present a global retrospective of the great French director Philippe Garrel, a revolutionary and poet of the cinema from the post New Wave generation. Beginning with radical early films made in the shadow of May ‘68 and continuing with his recent dramatic films collaborating with actors ranging from Catherine Deneuve and Jean-Pierre Léaud to his own family members, the retrospective showcases the profound beauty of Garrel’s body of work.
