2014 Cannes Classics Lineup Revealed

The Cannes Film Festival has revealed this year’s Cannes Classics lineup. The 2014 Guest of Honor will be Italian actress Sophia Loren, who won Best Actress at Cannes in 1961 and was president of the jury in 1966.

Guillaume Nicloux and Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi Awarded at 2014 Tribeca Film Festival

The 13th annual Tribeca Film Festival announced the winners of its competition categories on April 24th at a ceremony hosted at the Conrad New York hotel in New York City. French film, The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq, written and directed by Guillaume Nicloux, earned the Special Jury Mention and won Best Screenplay. Valeria Bruni Tedeschi won Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film for her performance in the film Human Capital, directed by Paolo Virzi.

The Cannes Film Festival has announced the Jury for the 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (May 14-25, 2014). Along with Campion, the 2014 Jury will include eight other film luminaries, four women and four men.

Cannes Announces 2014 Official Film Selection

The official film selection for the 2014 edition of the Cannes Film Festival was unveiled on April 17th during a press conference held by Gilles Jacob (President) and Thierry Frémaux (Executive Director). Out of 1,800 submissions, 49 films representing 28 countries were selected for this year’s slate, with 18 titles competing for the Palme d’Or and 19 for the Un Certain Regard section.
